awalparasi District(Nepali: नवलपरासी जिल्लाAbout this sound Listen (help·info), a part of Lumbini Zone, is one of the seventy-five districts of Nepal, a landlocked country of South Asia. The district, with Parasi as its district headquarters, covers an area of 2,162 km² and has a population (2001) of 562,870. This district has given birth to many Nepal's top level people including late Prime Minister Tanka Prasad Acharya. The mid point of Nepal's east west highway (Mahendra Highway)lie in this district.unwal is a municipality in Nawalparasi District in the Lumbini Zone of southern Nepal. It was recently announced as a municipality combining two neighbor Village Development Committees; Sunwal and Swathi; of the district (by means of Financial plan for the fiscal year 2011-2012 on July 16, 2011). At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 14,166 people living in 2720 individual households.
